Congee with Minced Beef
MEDIUM 1 1/2 HOUR
• 4 oz white rice
• 1½ tsp salt
• 8 cups water
• 4 oz minced beef
• 2 tsp egg white
• 2 tsp water
• 1 tsp cornstarch
• 1 tsp oil
• ¼ tsp salt
• ⅛ tsp ground pepper
• 1 stalk of green onion
• Dash of sesame oil
TIP
Do not overcook beef.
1 Season the minced beef and mix well.
2 Rinse and marinade rice with 1½ tsp salt. Add 8 cups of boiling water in a pot, boil for 10 minutes then turn heat to medium low to simmer for 45 minutes.
3 When congee is done cooking, add minced beef into boiling congee. Cook for 2 minutes then turn off heat.
4 Sprinkle green onion on congee to garnish.
