Fried Pork Chop with Tomatoes
MEDIUM 30 MINUTES
• 3 pork chops
• 2 large tomatoes (sliced)
• ½ onion (sliced)
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• 1 bundle of green onion
(sectioned)
• 1 tbsp tomato paste
• 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
• 2 tsp sugar
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp chicken powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp sugar
• ½ tsp chicken powder
• Some ground pepper
• 1 egg (beaten)
1 Tenderise pork chops by using a meat hammer, then cut in halves.
2 Add in salt, sugar, chicken powder (½ tsp of each) & ground pepper. Add beaten egg to marinate pork chops for 20 minutes, then cover with a layer of cornstarch.
3 Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil in wok. Place in pork chop pieces when oil is hot.
4 Use medium heat to fry pork chops. Turn them over when the sides turn golden. Place pork chops on a plate when cooked.
5 Heat wok, add 1 tbsp oil. Use medium heat to stir fry onion slices. Add tomato paste, then turn heat to medium-low. Add tomatoes, ½ tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar, ½ tsp chicken powder, and 2 tbsp water. Check if it needs more seasoning. Add ketchup, stir fry and mix well.
6 Mix 1 tsp cornstarch in 1 tbsp water. Turn heat to medium high, slowly add in the mixture to thicken the sauce if the sauce is too watery.
7 Add green onion, mix well.
8 Pour sauce on pork chops before serving. Dish up. Serve hot.
